Plant Design and Project Services (PDPS) is inviting applications for its 2025 Engineering Apprenticeship Programme, aimed at empowering South African youth with the technical skills required in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. If you’re passionate about hands-on work, problem-solving, and building a career in skilled trades, this 3-year programme offers you a strong foundation to thrive in the mechanical and welding industries.
Location: Secunda, Mpumalanga
Duration: 3 Years
Programme Start: 2025
Available Apprenticeships:
- Mechanical Fitting Apprentice
- Welding Apprentice
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in structured theoretical and practical training modules.
- Assist in maintaining and assembling mechanical components.
- Learn welding techniques and fabrication processes.
- Follow industry-standard safety protocols and quality procedures.
- Complete all academic and on-the-job assessments.
- Collaborate with experienced artisans and supervisors on real-time projects.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science.
- N3 Certificate with trade-related theory OR
- NCV Level 4 Certificate (Engineering-related field).
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interest in engineering and mechanical trades.
- Willingness to commit to the full 3-year apprenticeship.
