Overview:
The Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security & Liaison invites unemployed youth to apply for the 12-month Basic Traffic Officers Diploma Learnership Programme (NQF Level 4). The training will take place at the Traffic Training College in Mkhuhlu (Calcutta), Bushbuckridge Local Municipality. This learnership aims to equip participants with theoretical and practical skills in traffic law enforcement, road safety, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend classroom and practical training in road traffic laws, vehicle compliance, and road safety procedures.
  • Enforce traffic legislation and assist in accident prevention initiatives.
  • Conduct fieldwork at traffic control points and contribute to road safety campaigns.
  • Participate in physical fitness tests, medical examinations, and background vetting.

Requirements:

  • Must be a South African citizen residing in Mpumalanga.
  • Must have a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
  • A valid Code B (light motor vehicle) driver’s licence is preferred.
  • Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years of age.
  • Must be medically fit, have no criminal record, and be physically capable of performing traffic law enforcement duties.
  • Willing to enter into a 12-month contract and commit to full-time training.
