Tshipi é Ntle invites unemployed youth from the John Taolo Gaetsewe District to apply for its Mine Technical Support Learnership. This elite programme offers hands‑on training in geology, survey, and sampling, delivering NQF Level 2 certification, a monthly stipend, and opportunities to jumpstart a mining career in South Africa’s thriving mineral sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Geology
- Assist with geological mapping and core logging
- Collect, record, and analyze geological data
- Support drilling and sampling operations
Sampling
- Collect, label, and deliver mining samples to the lab
- Accurately capture and manage sampling data
Surveying
- Provide support during field measurements
- Set out survey pegs/points
- Update survey records and technical plans
General Support
- Adhere to mine health and safety regulations
- Maintain tools, equipment, and accurate daily reports
- Report daily to your supervisor with clear, detailed records
Requirements:
- Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics and Science
- Valid driver’s license
- Proof of residence (and high school attended)
- Medical fitness certificate (must be obtained)
- Completion of a Dover Assessment as part of the recruitment process
