Are you an unemployed South African youth aged between 18 and 34? Take advantage of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) under the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI) Phase V. This is your chance to earn a monthly income, gain valuable work experience, and receive skills training while making a difference in your community. Applications are open from 22 April to 09 May 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
Education Assistant Roles:
- Curriculum Assistant – Support teachers with educational content and classroom tasks.
- Reading Champion – Help improve learner literacy and reading comprehension.
- e-Cadre – Facilitate digital learning and ICT integration.
- Care & Support Assistant – Offer emotional and psychological support to students.
- Laboratory Assistant – Assist with science experiments and practical setups.
- Workshop Assistant – Provide technical support for practical learning.
General School Assistant Roles:
- Handyman/Woman – Perform general maintenance and repairs.
- Cleaner – Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in school facilities.
- Sports & Enrichment Assistant – Help run sports, arts, and cultural programs.
Requirements:
- South African citizen aged 18–34 years.
- Currently unemployed and not studying or receiving NSFAS.
- Must live within 5 km of an urban school or 30 km of a rural/farm school.
- Must have a South African ID or valid permit.
- Must own a cellphone number and bank account.
- Matric certificate required for Education Assistant roles; not mandatory for General School Assistants.
- Must not have participated in PYEI Phase I, II, or III.
Benefits:
- Monthly stipend of R4,000 (after 1% UIF deduction).
