This role plays a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally responsible campus that supports teaching, learning, and research.

Successful candidates will perform daily cleaning duties across campus facilities, including offices, lecture halls, and public spaces. Responsibilities also include deep cleaning, preparing venues for events, and ensuring cleaning equipment and supplies are properly maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily cleaning duties in line with assigned schedules and hygiene standards
  • Clean offices, classrooms, lecture halls, restrooms, corridors, and shared spaces
  • Carry out deep cleaning tasks in high-traffic and priority areas
  • Follow cost-control measures to minimise waste of cleaning materials
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are adequately stocked and available
  • Store cleaning equipment safely and maintain it in good condition
  • Support waste management processes and proper disposal procedures
  • Prepare venues for graduations, meetings, and campus events
  • Set up examination and test venues when required
  • Identify and report safety hazards or workplace risks
  • Report lost property to the relevant department
  • Assist staff, students, and visitors with basic enquiries when needed

Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 10 qualification
  • At least 1 year of relevant cleaning experience
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures
  • Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in universities, hospitals, schools, or large facilities
  • Understanding of waste control and hygiene procedures
  • Experience with deep cleaning and event preparation
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when required
