Overview:
York Timbers is seeking a skilled Workshop Foreman to oversee the daily operations of vehicle repairs and maintenance in our workshop. This leadership role requires a proactive individual who can manage staff schedules effectively and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the daily operations of vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Assist technicians in developing their skills and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with management to develop repair schedules and service priorities.
- Review and approve all maintenance requests and repair documentation.
- Maintain inventory of tools and equipment, ensuring operational readiness.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 qualification is essential.
- Relevant trade certifications (merSETA / Olifantsfontein / QCTO) as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- Hands-on experience in forestry equipment, including loggers, skip loaders, and other machine types.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
