 Administration Assistant – Rand Water Institute

Overview:

The Rand Water Institute is seeking a dedicated Administration Assistant to support internal Institute Support Services and coordinate activities across the organisation. This role plays a vital part in programme coordination, stakeholder communication, and maintaining operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and coordinate activities between the Institute Support Services team, internal departments, and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with contributors to Institute programmes.
  • Schedule internal and external meetings, take minutes, and distribute them promptly.
  • Manage communication channels across teams and third-party contributors.
  • Prepare professional reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Maintain and update the operational risk register and contract register.
  • Support all matters related to intellectual property within the Institute.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
  • Post-matric qualification in Administration or related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of general office administration experience.
  • Strong computer literacy, especially in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good telephone etiquette, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
