Overview:
Mercedes-Benz Sandton is seeking a Service Advisor (Non-Technical Administrator) to support seamless operations in our service department. This pivotal role ensures efficient coordination between service advisors, foremen, and our valued customers—delivering superior communication, administrative precision, and adherence to brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily workflow across service department teams, acting as the main liaison among service advisors, foremen, and customers.
- Provide timely customer updates on service bookings, progress, and delays; proactively manage inquiries and complaints.
- Oversee workshop opening/closing protocols, ensuring vehicle and key security in the key safe.
- Guarantee job cards are signed and comply with MBSA requirements; assist technicians with quoting processes.
- Support Controllers, Foremen, Service Managers, and Service Receptionists as needed.
- Monitor parts orders, ensuring delivery within a 5-day turnaround.
- Facilitate test drives for vehicles with specific complaints alongside foremen or quality controllers before customer collection.
- Handle administrative tasks including pre-writing job cards, recording non-warranty claims, managing Work-In-Progress (WIP), and monitoring outstanding cash.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification is essential.
- Computer literacy required; familiarity with Kerridge system highly advantageous.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in automotive or service administration roles.
- Mercedes-Benz certified Service Advisor preferred.
- Motor industry knowledge considered beneficial.
- Demonstrated traits: self-driven, resilient, high integrity, team-oriented, emotionally mature with strong collaboration, ability to work under pressure, and excellent follow-through.
