Kapama Private Game Reserve is seeking a professional and detail-oriented Assistant Lodge Manager to join the team at Kapama Southern Camp. This luxury hospitality position involves supporting the Lodge Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a high-end safari lodge while ensuring guests receive exceptional service in a world-class game reserve environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, supervising lodge staff, maintaining operational standards, and assisting with financial and administrative responsibilities. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lodge Manager with daily safari lodge operations
- Supervise front-office, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest service teams
- Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction and hospitality excellence
- Coordinate lodge administration and operational reporting
- Oversee stock control, budgeting, and financial management processes
- Maintain high standards of lodge presentation and cleanliness
- Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance management
- Monitor lodge maintenance and ensure operational efficiency
- Handle guest concerns and resolve service-related issues professionally
- Support both front-of-house and back-of-house lodge operations
Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ management experience in a luxury lodge, boutique hotel, or Big 5 reserve environment
- Qualification in Hospitality Management or a related field
- Strong operational and financial management skills
- Experience managing rooms division operations
- Basic lodge maintenance knowledge
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience in luxury safari lodge management
- Knowledge of hospitality systems and lodge booking platforms
- Proven ability to lead and motivate hospitality teams
